Safety First Pays Off: Three NTPC Mining Ltd Mines Earn 5-Star Rating; Pakri-Barwadih Holds No. 1 Spot

NTPC Mining Limited (NML) has delivered a strong performance in the Star Rating of Open Cast (OC) Coal Mines for the FY 2024-25, conducted by the Office of the Coal Controller (CCO) under the Ministry of Coal, with three of its mines earning the coveted 5-star rating for best safety practices in mining operations.

Pakri-Barwadih, Dulanga and Talaipalli have all secured five-star ratings. Among the five-star rated mines nationwide, Pakri-Barwadih retained its place as the topmost mine, while Dulanga secured the 5th position and Talaipalli the 8th position.

NML mines have performed consistently well with Pakri-Barwadih topped the five-star rating list for two consecutive years and Dulanga received the 5-star rating for six consecutive years.

The Star Rating of Coal Mines is an annual exercise carried out by the CCO to encourage safe practices across all coal and lignite mines in the country. The latest results showcase the continuous effort in strengthening the safety mechanism at NTPC Mining Limited.
