SECI Invites Bids for 700 MW ISTS-Connected Solar PV Projects
New Delhi: Renewable energy CPSE, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), has issued a Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for the selection of solar project developers to set up 700 MW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected Solar PV Power Projects in India.
The procurement drive is being executed under a tariff-based competitive bidding framework, specifically categorized under the Commercial & Industrial (C&I-1) segment.
Key Highlights of the SECI Solar Tender:

Project Scope: The project aims to select Solar Power Developers to set up grid-connected solar installations on a Build-Own-Operate (B-O-O) basis for a cumulative capacity of 700 MW.

Strategic Location: The clean energy infrastructure is mandated to come up inside designated Special Economic Zones (SEZs) or areas marked as Export Oriented Units (EOUs) across India.

Long-Term Power Purchase: SECI will sign a formal Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the winning bidders to secure the solar power supply for a long-term duration of 25 years, governed by the standard terms laid out in the upcoming Request for Selection (RfS) guidelines.

Dedicated Supply to Odisha: The renewable power bought by SECI from these upcoming installations is provisioned for direct sale to a specific Buying Entity—a Commercial & Industrial (C&I) consumer’s Export Oriented Unit based in the state of Odisha.
According to the official communication dated July 8, 2026, the comprehensive bidding documents, detailed RfS parameters, and timelines will soon be opened for access on the ISN-ETS Portal, the Central Public Procurement (CPP) Portal, and SECI’s official organizational website.
