THDC India’s Vishnugad Pipalkoti Hydro Project achieves major milestone with Unit‑2 Hydro Static Testing
VPHEP (4x111 MW) of THDC India successfully completes Hydro Static Testing of Spiral Case of Unit-2, marking significant progress in construction and ensuring structural integrity and safety.
Rishiganga, December 3, 2025 — The Vishnugad Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) of THDC India Limited (4x111 MW) achieved a significant engineering milestone today with the successful completion of Hydro Static Testing (HST) of the Spiral Case of Unit-2 at the project’s Power House.
Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Managing Director of THDCIL, congratulated the VPHEP team on the achievement, noting that the successful HST marks a major stride in the construction progress of the hydroelectric project. Hydro Static Testing is a critical phase, carried out to ensure the structural integrity, durability, and safety of major components under the designed water pressure.
The completion of the HST of the Spiral Case reflects the technical expertise, teamwork, and seamless coordination of the VPHEP team along with associated partners. The milestone demonstrates the project’s steady progress towards commissioning and operational readiness.
The occasion was attended by senior officials including Sh. Ajay Verma, HOP (VPHEP), Sh. Ravindra Singh Rana, GM (EM), Sh. Sanjay Mamgain, AGM (HM/Mechanical), Sh. Ajay Kumar, AGM (G&G), Sh. A.K. Shrivastava, AGM (F&A), Sh. Karan Bargali, DGM (EM), and other key project personnel.
