An agreement has been signed between WCL and Triveni Rajur Coal Mines Pvt. Ltd. to restart mining operations at the Rajur Pits underground mine.

Maharashtra, September 29, 2025: On 29.09.2025, an agreement exchange took place between WCL and Triveni Rajur Coal Mines Pvt. Ltd. for resuming mining operations at the Rajur Pits underground mine of Wani North Area. Under this agreement, Triveni Rajur Coal Mines Pvt. Ltd. will carry out coal mining at the closed Rajur Pits underground mine of WCL.

In a special program held at WCL Headquarters under the chairmanship of CMD, Shri J. P. Dwivedi, the agreement was exchanged between Director (Technical – Operations/Planning & Projects), Shri Anandji Prasad, and Director (Projects), Triveni Rajur Coal Mines Pvt. Ltd., Shri Kamal Kant Shukla. As per the agreement, the responsibility for commencement of work, rehabilitation, development, and operations will be with Triveni Rajur Coal Mines Pvt. Ltd. The agreement, based on revenue sharing, is valid for 25 years.

During this period, the proposed total coal production is 192 Lakh Tonnes, with an average annual output of 7.68 Lakh Tonnes. Rajur Pits underground mine is the third mine of WCL to be operated on a revenue-sharing basis.

On this occasion, CMD Shri J. P. Dwivedi expressed hope that the Rajur Pits underground mine will soon make a significant contribution towards meeting the nation’s coal requirements.

The event was graced by Director (HR) Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, CMD’s Technical Secretary Shri Tarun Kumar Srivastava, General Manager Wani North Area Shri M. Sanjeev Reddy, General Manager (CMC) Shri Jayant M. Alkari, and General Manager (Production) Shri A. P. Singh, along with senior officials of WCL and Triveni Rajur Coal Mines Pvt. Ltd.
