Mumbai, February 4, 2026: Maharashtra is witnessing a historic transformation of its railway network under the state’s Triple Engine government, with unprecedented investment, modernization, and expansion driving connectivity, safety, and passenger experience.
The state’s railway budget has skyrocketed from ₹1,171 crore (2009–14) to ₹23,926 crore in 2026–27, marking a 20-fold increase in annual funding. This financial surge has enabled Maharashtra to execute one of the largest railway infrastructure programs in the country.

Track Expansion: Over 2,400 km of new railway lines have been constructed since 2014, significantly enhancing connectivity across the state.
