RailTel Seeks Chief Manager, Senior Manager for Kavach Operations in Jabalpur
New Delhi, June 2, 2026: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd (RailTel), a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has invited applications for the position of Design Director in the rank of Chief Manager/Senior Manager (E3 level) as part of its ongoing expansion and implementation activities for the Kavach railway safety system.
According to Vacancy Notice No. 08/2026 issued on June 1, 2026, the position will be based in Jabalpur under RailTel's Western Region operations. The recruitment will be conducted through both deputation and re-employment modes, providing opportunities for serving as well as retired railway executives.
Key Position Details
RailTel is seeking experienced Signalling and Telecommunications (S&T) executives from Indian Railways and Railway Public Sector Undertakings to support critical Kavach-related projects and operational activities.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

Eligibility Criteria
For deputation appointments, applicants should not exceed 56 years of age as of the closing date of applications.
For re-employment appointments, retired officers must be below 62 years of age on the closing date.
Eligible candidates include:

Chief Manager (E3 Level) officers.

Senior Manager (E3 Level) officers.

Railway Group 'B' officers.

Senior Section Engineers (SSEs).

Non-gazetted employees in Level 8 or Level 9, including those promoted under MACPS.
Tenure and Compensation
The deputation tenure will be for three years or until RailTel's exemption from immediate absorption rules remains valid, whichever is earlier.
Candidates selected under the re-employment category will be engaged based on organizational requirements at the discretion of RailTel management.
Officials joining on deputation will receive their parent pay along with deputation allowance as per applicable rules, while re-employed candidates will be compensated under RailTel's DPE pay scales and benefits structure.

The recruitment comes as Indian Railways continues expanding the deployment of Kavach, India's indigenous automatic train protection system designed to enhance railway safety, prevent collisions, and improve operational efficiency across the rail network.
