IRCTC Appoints NWR Officer Vivek Rawat as Group General Manager E8 for North Zone
New Delhi, June 1, 2026: The Ministry of Railways has approved the deputation of Vivek Rawat, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) as Group General Manager (E8), North Zone, New Delhi.
According to an order issued by the Railway Board, Rawat, who is currently serving as Chief Commercial Manager (Claims, Catering & Freight Marketing) at the headquarters of North Western Railway (NWR), Jaipur, has been selected for the key leadership position in IRCTC on the usual terms of deputation.
The deputation will be for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to the Government’s approval regarding exemption from the rule of immediate absorption applicable to IRCTC.
Railway Board has directed North Western Railway to relieve the officer at the earliest to enable him to assume his new responsibilities at IRCTC’s North Zone office in New Delhi. The date of his relief is to be communicated to the Board.
Vivek Rawat joined the Indian Railway Traffic Service in 2006 and has held several operational and commercial assignments during his railway career. His appointment is expected to strengthen IRCTC’s commercial, tourism and passenger service initiatives in the strategically important North Zone.
IRCTC, the public sector enterprise responsible for railway catering, tourism and online ticketing services, continues to bring experienced railway officers into key management positions to support its growth and service expansion plans.
