New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won 8 'National Safety Awards for outstanding achievements in terms of the longest accident-free period and lowest accident frequency rate at its works.

The prestigious awards were received by Ms. Renuka Gera, Director (IS&P) & Director (E, R&D) – Addl. Charge, from Shri Bhupender Yadav, Hon'ble Union Minister of Labour & Employment in the presence of Shri Rameswar Teli, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, at a function in New Delhi. 

Significantly, BHEL has been winning these prestigious national awards, instituted by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India consistently, since their inception.

In addition, among a host of public and private sector companies, 25 BHEL employees from its Bhopal, Jhansi, Trichy, and Hyderabad Units have bagged 7 out of a total of 28 'Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskars' declared by the Ministry for the performance year 2018.
