Mumbai, 23 February 2026: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the March 2026 round of its Rural Consumer Confidence Survey (RCCS), continuing its regular assessment of rural and semi-urban households’ economic perceptions and expectations. The survey captures insights on general economic conditions, employment, price situation, household income, and spending patterns, both current and projected for the next year.

The survey will cover households across 31 states and Union Territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and others. The results of the survey provide valuable inputs for RBI’s monetary policy formulation and help track consumer sentiment in rural India.

Survey Implementation

The Ipsos Research Private Ltd., Gurugram, has been engaged by RBI to conduct the survey. Selected households will be approached directly by the agency, but others can also participate by submitting their responses via the linked survey schedule.

Households and individuals who wish to participate or require clarification can contact the Division of Household Surveys, Department of Statistics and Information Management, RBI at Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
