MCL receives Global Sustainable Mining Practices Award 2025

Sambalpur, March 9, 2025: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited and the leading coal-producing company in India, received the Global Sustainable Mining Practices Award 2025 at the 3rd Odisha Mining and Infrastructure International Expo held at Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

The award was presented by Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Shri Hari Babu Kambhampati to Shri Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MCL.

This recognition underscores MCL’s unwavering commitment to sustainable mining, environmental responsibility and innovative corporate practices.

Shri Uday Anant Kaole has expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed MCL’s dedication to environmentally conscious and socially responsible mining. “This award is a testament to MCL’s continuous efforts in adopting sustainable practices, minimising environmental impact and fostering community welfare. We remain committed to ensuring that our mining operations align with global sustainability standards,” the CMD said, congratulating Team MCL for their collective efforts in achieving this award.
