Avinash Agarwal to join as new Chief People Officer at SBI Cards and Payments Ltd
Ms. Anita Richard Sontumyra, Chief People Officer of the SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd., had submitted her resignation with effect from the close of business hours on September 18, 2025, on account of her repatriation to the State Bank of India.

The Board of Directors of SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited has appointed Mr. Avinash Agrawal as Chief People Officer of the Company, with effect from September 19, 2025, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

He is appointed as Executive Vice President & Chief People Officer. Before joining SBI Card, he held significant positions, including Deputy General Manager-Business Solutions at the Corporate Centre in Mumbai and DGM-IT roles at GITC Belapur.
Notably, he has played leadership roles in shaping talent & human resources strategies in various assignments. Mr. Agrawal has over 30 years of rich and diverse experience in the banking sector.
He holds a postgraduate degree in economics, an MBA in finance, and also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). Mr. Agrawal has demonstrated exceptional leadership across various domains such as retail banking, branch operations, digital banking, human resources, and information technology.
