Axis Bank Receives EPFO Demand of ₹1.14 Crore for Delay in Pension Contributions

Mumbai, February 4, 2026: Axis Bank Ltd. has received a demand from the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) totaling ₹1,13,76,736. The amount includes ₹39,49,751 as interest and ₹74,26,985 as damages related to delays in remittance of contributions to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS) under the Employees’ Provident Fund & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.

The demand pertains to contributions from April 1, 2015, to March 31, 2022, and follows a Show Cause Notice issued by EPFO on January 6, 2026. The delay was primarily due to administrative challenges, such as non-linkage of Aadhaar and non-receipt of Form-11 from employees.

In its filing to the stock exchanges, Axis Bank stated that it reviewed the matter and submitted the requisite information promptly. The bank anticipates no significant impact on its financial, operational, or other business activities as a result of the EPFO demand.

The development was reported under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, ensuring timely disclosure to investors and stakeholders.
