PNB Signs MoU with Tamil Nadu Govt to Manage Salary Accounts of State Employees

Chennai, February 11, 2026: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu for managing salary accounts of state government employees, strengthening its presence in the southern market.

The agreement was formalised at the State Government Treasury Department in Chennai. The MoU was signed by N. Venkatesh, IAS, Director of Treasuries and Accounts, and P. Mahendar, Zonal Head, Chennai, PNB, in the presence of senior officials from the bank and the state government.

Enhanced Benefits for State Employees

Under the partnership, eligible Tamil Nadu government employees will be brought under PNB’s Revamped Salary Schemes, which offer a range of exclusive benefits including:

  • Comprehensive insurance coverage

  • Enhanced welfare benefits

  • Preferential banking services

The initiative is aimed at strengthening employees’ financial security while providing a streamlined and technology-enabled banking experience.

Focus on Seamless Transition

PNB said it will coordinate closely with various state departments to ensure smooth onboarding of employees into its banking system. The bank emphasised its commitment to efficient service delivery and customer convenience as part of the collaboration.

The MoU marks a significant step for PNB in expanding its government business portfolio and deepening its engagement with public sector employees in Tamil Nadu.
