New Delhi, June 16, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved additional responsibilities for two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers following the temporary absence of incumbent secretaries on leave.

According to separate orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on June 15, 2026, senior bureaucrats Anil Malik and Manoj Joshi have been entrusted with additional charge of key ministries and departments of the Government of India.

Shri Anil Malik, IAS (Haryana cadre: 1991), currently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The arrangement will be effective from June 16, 2026, to July 1, 2026, during the leave period of Ms. Ranjana Chopra, IAS (Odisha cadre: 1994), who presently heads the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The approval was granted by the Competent Authority through an order issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Manoj Joshi Gets Additional Charge of Department of Fertilizers

 

In another decision, the ACC approved the assignment of additional charge of Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, to Shri Manoj Joshi, IAS (Kerala cadre: 1989).

Joshi is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals. He will hold the additional responsibility with immediate effect until June 28, 2026.

The arrangement has been made during the leave period of Shri Rajat Kumar Mishra, IAS (Rajasthan cadre: 1992), who currently serves as Secretary, Department of Fertilizers.

The temporary appointments are aimed at ensuring uninterrupted functioning and administrative continuity in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Department of Fertilizers during the absence of their respective secretaries.

Both orders were issued by Manisha Saxena, Secretary, Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and Establishment Officer, Department of Personnel and Training.
