Manoj Kumar Joins KRCL; Railway Board Issues Detailed Pension and Benefits Order
New Delhi, June 16, 2026: The Ministry of Railways has approved the immediate absorption of Shri Manoj Kumar, RBSS, into Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), according to an order issued by the Railway Board on June 16, 2026.
The approval, conveyed with the sanction of the President of India, follows a request made by KRCL through its letter dated June 3, 2026. The immediate absorption takes effect from June 3, 2026 (forenoon).
Shri Manoj Kumar, born on January 4, 1969, was a permanent Railway officer before his absorption into Konkan Railway Corporation Limited.
Pension and Retirement Benefits Protected
As per the order, Manoj Kumar will continue to receive pension and pro-rata retirement gratuity for the service rendered under the Indian Railways. He will also be eligible to commute up to 40% of his pension.
The retirement benefits will be calculated under the Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 2026, and monthly pension payments will commence from the day following his cessation of service under the Railways.
Family Pension Benefits to Continue
The Railway Board clarified that the family of Manoj Kumar will remain eligible for family pension under the Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 2026. The liability of the Railways regarding family pension will be frozen as on the date of cessation of service and calculated based on the rules applicable at that time.
Leave Encashment and Provident Fund Transfer
The order also provides that Manoj Kumar will be entitled to encash earned leave standing to his credit, subject to a maximum limit of 300 days.
Further, the balance in his State Railway Provident Fund account, along with accrued interest, will be transferred to the provident fund account maintained by KRCL, subject to the corporation's rules and consent.
KRCL Rules to Govern Service Conditions
Following his immediate absorption, Manoj Kumar will be free to negotiate his emoluments with Konkan Railway Corporation Limited and will be treated at par with other employees of the corporation. For service rendered after absorption, he will be governed entirely by KRCL's rules and will be entitled to all benefits available to corresponding employees of the organization.
