Mazagon Dock Hosts Japanese Consul General SATO Hitomi, Explores Maritime Cooperation Under MAKV 2047
Mumbai, June 18, 2026: Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) welcomed Ms. SATO Hitomi, Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, for discussions aimed at strengthening India-Japan maritime and industrial cooperation and exploring new avenues of collaboration in shipbuilding and maritime infrastructure.
During the meeting, officials held productive deliberations on MDL's vision of establishing a world-class mega shipyard under the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision (MAKV) 2047, a long-term roadmap aimed at transforming India into a leading global maritime nation.
MDL highlighted that Japan's internationally recognized expertise in shipbuilding, precision manufacturing, and technological innovation presents significant opportunities for cooperation in advancing the future of the maritime sector.
