Ajay Seth appointed as Finance Secretary
The position had been unfilled since Tuhin Kanta Pandey (IAS: 1987: OR) assumed control of SEBI. Seth is now Secretary, the Department of Economic Affairs.
New Delhi: Ajay Seth (IAS: 1987: KN) has been designated as Finance Secretary by the Central Government on Monday. The position had been unfilled since Tuhin Kanta Pandey (IAS: 1987: OR) assumed control of SEBI. Seth is now Secretary, the Department of Economic Affairs.
He also has the extra responsibility of Secretary, Department of Revenue Vice T K Pandey. According to tradition, Union Finance Secretary is the senior-most Secretary under the Ministry of Finance.
