Government Approves Repatriation & Deputation Extensions

New Delhi, January 29, 2026 – The Government of India, through the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), has issued several key personnel decisions concerning Central Deputation and repatriation of officers.

  1. Premature Repatriation of Shri Sudarshan Bhagat, IOFS (2012):
    The Ministry of Coal had requested the premature repatriation of Shri Sudarshan Bhagat, IOFS (2012), Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, to his parent cadre on personal grounds. The Competent Authority has approved the proposal with the provision of an "extended cooling-off" period. Shri Bhagat has been relieved of his duties and directed to report to his parent cadre immediately.

  2. Extension of Central Deputation – Ms. Iva Ashish Srivastava, IAS (UD:2010):
    The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of the Central deputation tenure of Ms. Iva Ashish Srivastava, IAS (UD:2010), Director of Census Operations (DCO)/Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Uttarakhand. Her tenure has been extended beyond April 2, 2026, up to December 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Ms. Srivastava has been on central deputation since April 3, 2023.

  3. Extension of Central Deputation – Shri Lalit Jain, IAS (HP:2011):
    Similarly, the ACC has approved the extension of the Central deputation tenure of Shri Lalit Jain, IAS (HP:2011), Director of Census Operations (DCO)/Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Haryana. His tenure is now extended beyond December 6, 2026, up to December 6, 2028, or until further orders. Shri Jain has been on central deputation since December 7, 2023.

These measures reflect the Government’s continued focus on efficient personnel management and ensuring continuity in key administrative positions under the Central Staffing Scheme.
