Government Orders Premature Repatriation of MSME Director Shri Ashok Kumar Sharma for Promotion
New Delhi, February 20, 2026 – The Government of India has ordered the premature repatriation of Shri Ashok Kumar Sharma, a 1994-batch Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE) officer, from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to his parent cadre. The order was issued to allow him to avail the benefits of promotion.
According to Office Memorandum No. 13/07/2023-EO(MM-I) released by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on February 20, 2026, the Competent Authority has approved the proposal moved by the MSME Ministry.
Shri Sharma currently serves as a Director in the MSME Ministry. Following the approval, he is to be relieved of his duties in the ministry immediately to report back to his parent cadre.
The memorandum, signed by Annies Kanmani Joy, Director (MM), confirms that the decision follows a reference made by the MSME Ministry on February 2, 2026. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the concerned authorities, including the Secretary (Personnel) and the Establishment Officer, for necessary action.
