New Delhi, 17th February 2026: The Government of India, through the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), has announced the appointment of 12 Central Prabhari Officers (CPOs) for key aspirational districts under the Aspirational District Programme. These officers have been selected to enhance governance and development initiatives across priority districts in various states.

The appointments, made with effect from February 17, 2026, cover districts in Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana. Each officer will serve as a nodal point to coordinate central government schemes and facilitate effective implementation on the ground.

These appointments aim to strengthen coordination between central ministries and local administrations, accelerate socio-economic development, and improve governance standards in Aspirational Districts, which have been identified as priority regions for development.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has shared this update with all secretaries to the Government of India, Chief Secretaries of States, and administrators of Union Territories.
