Shri Rajiv Shankar, IRS (C&IT), Repatriated to Parent Cadre for Promotion
New Delhi, February 2026: The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India, has approved the premature repatriation of Shri Rajiv Shankar, IRS (C&IT) 2008 batch, currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, to his parent cadre to enable him to avail the benefit of promotion.
This decision has been formalized through Office Memorandum No. 14/1/2023-EO (MM-I) dated February 2026, issued from the Office of the Establishment Officer, DoPT, Kartavya Bhawan, New Delhi. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs had earlier submitted its request for the premature repatriation under O.M. No. A-19011/20/2023-Ad.I-MCA dated 24 February 2026.
Shri Rajiv Shankar has been directed to be relieved immediately from his current duties at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to report to his parent cadre, ensuring a smooth transition and timely compliance with promotion protocols.
The Office Memorandum has also been forwarded to key offices for necessary action and information, including the Cabinet Secretariat, Personal Staff to MOS and Secretary, and relevant departmental panels.
This step reflects the Government of India’s focus on administrative efficiency, timely promotions, and career progression of officers in the Indian Revenue Service (C&IT).
