Two IPS officers gets apex scale appraisal from government

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for grant of Apex pay scale (Level-17 in the pay matrix) to the following IPS officers with immediate effect:

Shri Brighu Srinivasan is an IPS officer of 1992 Batch of the Bihar cadre. He is currently serving as the Director General of National Security Guard from 28 August 2024. Before this appointment as Director General of NSG he was serving as Director at Bihar Police Academy. In his early police career, Srinivasan served in Kashmir for three decades.

He will retire in August 2027.

Mrs Sapna Tewari, an IPS officer of Odisha cadre of 1992-batch is currently Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau has also been given promotion to Apex Scale and will retire in April 2026.
