Delhi High Court: SECI to be restrained from any coercive action against Reliance arm

Reliance NU Suntech gets relief from Delhi High Court in SECI power deal dispute.
The High Court of Delhi has issued an advisory to prevent Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) from taking any stringent action against the Reliance’s arm Reliance NU Suntech Private Ltd.
In May 2025, the Reliance NU Suntech Private Ltd has signed a long-term power purchase agreement of 25 years with the SECI after winning 930 MW of solar power capacity plus 465 MW/1,860 MWh of energy storage in a reverse auction held in December 2024.
State-run SECI is seeking to terminate its agreement with Reliance subsidiary with undisclosed reasons mentioned.
Reliance NU Suntech Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Company had challenged the notice issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited in High Court of Delhi seeking a stay on the proposed termination of its power purchase agreement, the company stated in an exchange filing.

The Hon'ble High Court of Delhi was pleased to grant the maintenance of status quo between parties and has restrained Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited from taking any coercive actions, it added.
