Biggest Merger in Automobile Industry, Involved three giant companies

New Delhi: According to the recent announcement, Nissan Motor (Nissan) and Honda Motor (Honda) came together to sign the memorandum of understanding (MOU) on December 23, 2024. To deepen their previous relationship, both companies are going to look forward to business integration. 

So far in 2024, Honda and Nissan have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) regarding their strategic partnership. The first MoU was signed on March 15, 2024, focusing on a strategic partnership for vehicle intelligence and electrification. The second MoU was signed on August 1, 2024, to deepen their strategic partnership's framework and to conduct joint research in fundamental technologies for next-generation software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

Additionally, they have announced plans to potentially merge and form a holding company by August 2026. It is also stated that Mitsubishi Motors is also involved in these discussions and may join the alliance3.
