NLC India Limited, which has won back to back first prizes for its swachhata campaigns in 2023 and 2024, launched the Swachhata Hi Seva SHS 2025 Campaign, with a plethora of impactful activities on 17.09.25. The campaign being observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, forms part of the national movement to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and citizen participation. This year’s theme, Swachhotsav, emphasizes celebrating cleanliness as a collective effort and festival of community involvement.

As part of the campaign, the Swachh Bharat pledge was administered in three languages at all Units, offices and outside projects of NLCIL. At the Corporate Office Neyveli, the pledge was administered in the esteemed presence of Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli CMD, Shri Samir Swarup Director HR and Senior Executives of NLCIL.

Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli CMD NLCIL, accompanied by Shri Samir Swarup Director HR and Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan IPoS Chief Vigilance Officer, inaugurated and participated in six diverse events – A Blood Donation Camp, Students Interaction with elders at Ananda Illam, Signing of an MoU between Neyveli Automobile Association and Sneha Opportunity Services to provide skill development training to underprivileged rural women, a Mass plantation drive at Mine II, a 10 day training camp for youth aspiring to join armed forces and PM Cup Sports Meet for rural students organised on the occasion.

107 donors voluntarily donated blood during the Blood Donation Camp organized by NLC India Hospital. Shri DVSN Murthy Executive Director Legal CSR and Medical and Dr P Sukumar Executive Director NLCIL GH were also present. In the special students interaction with Elders, an orientation session was organised for the students to imbibe the spirit of respecting senior citizens and spending time with elders.

An MoU to provide Skill development to underprivileged rural women was signed between the Sneha Opportunity Services, an Institution for special children under the patronage of NLCIL and the Neyveli Automobile Association to train 20 economically underprivileged and resettled women including 12 members of land displaced families and 8 destitute widows equipping them with sustainable livelihood skills.

A large scale plantation drive was successfully conducted at Mine reclaimed area in all the three Mines in which 7500 tree saplings were planted. This event was graced by CMD NLCIL at Mine II.

A 10 day camp for imparting awareness training on physical and mental preparedness to the aspiring youth pursuing their careers in the armed forces by Central Industrial Security Force CISF Neyveli Unit was inaugurated.

As the final event of the day, the prize distribution ceremony of the PM Cup Sports Meet was held at Bharathi Stadium, where the CMD presented awards to the winners of various sports events organized for rural students from Neyveli and the surrounding areas.

The events held on the inaugural day of the Swachhata Campaign 2025 served as a reminder of the vital role every citizen plays in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
