Major public sector undertaking (PSU) stocks are in focus today as BEML Limited, Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) and Balmer Lawrie & Co. are scheduled to announce their Q3 FY26 (December quarter) results. Investors are tracking profit recovery trends, margin performance and interim dividend announcements, which could drive stock-specific action during and after market hours.

 

BEML Limited

BEML is expected to report year-on-year profit growth of 7% to 23% in Q3 FY26. The company had posted a net profit of ₹24.41 crore in Q3 FY25. For the December quarter, profit is estimated in the range of ₹26 crore to ₹30 crore, implying an absolute growth of ₹2 crore to ₹6 crore.

The improvement is likely to be driven by better execution in the defence, rail and mining equipment segments, along with stable operating margins. The board is also expected to consider an interim dividend, keeping the stock on dividend watch.

For Q3 FY26, profit is estimated in the range of ₹195 crore to ₹215 crore, implying flat to marginally lower year-on-year growth, but a 3% to 14% sequential improvement. Any recovery in margins or a dividend announcement could act as a near-term trigger for the stock.

Profit for the December quarter is estimated in the range of ₹42 crore to ₹45 crore, translating into 4% to 11% year-on-year growth and 10% to 18% sequential growth. The stock is viewed as a defensive PSU play, backed by a consistent ROE of around 13–14%.
