India and South Korea Hold 6th FPSD, Reaffirm Special Strategic Partnership
New Delhi/Seoul: India and the Republic of Korea (RoK) further strengthened their Special Strategic Partnership as Secretary (East) P. Kumaran co-chaired the 6th India–RoK Foreign Policy and Security Dialogue (FPSD) with Park Yoon-joo, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
The high-level dialogue reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including high-level exchanges, economic and commercial cooperation, security and defence collaboration, science and technology partnerships, as well as cultural and people-to-people ties.
Comprehensive Review of Bilateral Ties
Both sides discussed progress in political engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic linkages and strengthening strategic cooperation. The dialogue also covered emerging areas such as innovation, advanced technologies, and expanded institutional collaboration.
Security and defence cooperation featured prominently in the discussions, with both countries acknowledging the importance of sustained coordination in maintaining regional stability.
Regional and Global Issues
The two sides exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, reflecting their growing convergence on key geopolitical and economic matters. They agreed to continue close consultations in multilateral forums and work together to address shared challenges.
The dialogue concluded with a shared resolve to further enhance the India–RoK Special Strategic Partnership and elevate cooperation across diverse sectors.
India and the Republic of Korea have maintained robust diplomatic and economic engagement, with their Special Strategic Partnership serving as a cornerstone for collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
