Eastern Coalfields signs agreement for coal production and mining in Rajmahal Area
Under the Rajmahal Area, ECL, the agreement will cover the construction and management of the Chuperbhita-Shimlong Open Cast Project (OCP), which has a 6 million tonne per year (MTY) production capacity.

An "Agreement Exchange Ceremony" between ECL and MDO M/s Shrijee Nuravi Chuperbhita-Shimlong Mines Pvt. Limited for Chuperbhita-Shimlong OCP was held on May 9, 2025. The event, which took place at Eastern Coalfields Limited's headquarters, marked the beginning of a major collaboration between MDO M/s Shrijee Nuravi Chuperbhita-Shimlong Mines Pvt. Limited and ECL.

The exchange of agreement took place in between Area General Manager, Rajmahal Area, ECL, Shri A. N. Nayak and Shri Ravi Ranjan Chaubey, Head of M/s Shrijee Nuravi Chuperbhita-Shimlong Mines Pvt. Limited.
The agreement marks a strategic step towards coal production and ensuring efficient mining operations in the Rajmahal Area, aligning with ECL’s long-term goals of sustainable development and energy security.
