Dr. Harikrishnan S and Shri Rajesh Gopalkrishnan joins Board of Directors of Cochin Shipyard Ltd
Cochin Shipyard Ltd appoints Dr. Harikrishnan S as Director Operations and Shri Rajesh Gopalakrishnan as Director Technical. Both bring nearly three decades of experience in shipbuilding and ship repair.
Cochin Shipyard Ltd has announced that Dr. Harikrishnan S, Executive Director (Ship Building), CSL and Shri Rajesh Gopalakrishnan, Executive Director (Ship Repair), CSL has assumed charge as Director (Operations) and Director (Technical), respectively, of the Company i.e., August 27, 2025.
Consequently, Shri Madhu Sankunny Nair, Chairman and Managing Director of the Company, who was holding the additional charge of Director (Operations) and Director (Technical) has handed over the same to Dr. Harikrishnan S and Shri Rajesh Gopalakrishnan respectively.
Dr. Harikrishnan S is appointed for a term till the date of his superannuation i.e., May 31, 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier and Shri Rajesh Gopalakrishnan is appointed for a tenure of five (5) years with effect from August 27, 2025 or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
Dr. Harikrishnan S Director (Operations)
Dr. Harikrishnan S holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Technology degree in Production Engineering, an MBA in International Business and a Doctorate (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering. With nearly three decades of experience in the Company, he has been involved in a wide range of functions in ship building and ship repair including design, inspection & quality control, production, procurement, planning & project management. He is also a Director in Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (Hooghly-CSL) and Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (Udupi-CSL), the wholly owned subsidiaries of CSL.

Shri Rajesh Gopalakrishnan Director (Technical)
Shri Rajesh Gopalakrishnan holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with specialisation in International Marketing. He has close to three decades of experience in the Company spanning ship building, ship repairs & conversion. His expertise covers the entire spectrum from business strategy, business build, estimation, contract management, procurement, planning, project management, invoicing, after sales & customer relations. He is also a Director in Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (Hooghly-CSL) and Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (Udupi-CSL), the wholly owned subsidiaries of CSL.
