ECL Signs MoU with HLL Life Care to Open AMRIT Pharmacies
New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HLL Life Care Limited to establish AMRIT Pharmacy retail outlets within its operational areas, marking a significant step towards improving healthcare access for its workforce and local communities.
Under the agreement, AMRIT Pharmacy outlets will initially be set up at three locations:
Central Hospital, Kalla, Sanctoria Hospital, and the Rajmahal Area.
These outlets will provide quality medicines at discounted rates, catering to the healthcare needs of ECL employees, their families, and the surrounding population. The arrangement will also enable bulk procurement and supply of medicines for ECL’s area hospitals and dispensaries, strengthening the company’s medical infrastructure.
The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Deputy General Manager (RBD), represented HLL Life Care Limited, while Dr S N Saha, Chief Medical Superintendent In-Charge, signed on behalf of ECL.
The event was attended by Shri Satish Jha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, ECL; Shri Niladri Roy, Director (Technical Operations); Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha, Director (Human Resources); and Shri Girish Gopinathan Nair, Director (Technical P&P). Several senior medical officers were also present, including Dr Samir Poddar, CMO In-Charge (Admin); Dr Faiyaz Ahmed, CMO and Head of Department, Central Hospital Kalla; Dr Jayjit Mukherjee, CMO, ECL Headquarters; and Dr Priyanka Chakraborty, Deputy CMO, ECL Headquarters.
Company officials said the partnership would significantly enhance the availability of affordable medicines while supporting ECL’s commitment to employee welfare and community healthcare.
