NEEPCO & GRIDCO Sign MOU to Develop Renewable Energy Projects in Odisha

New Delhi, February 25, 2026: North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) and Grid Corporation of Odisha Limited (GRIDCO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly explore opportunities for the development of renewable energy projects in Odisha.

The MOU was signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Director (Finance) of NEEPCO, and other dignitaries during the Odisha Renewable Energy Investor Conclave 2026, held from February 12–13 in Bhubaneswar.

Sri Satyapriya Rath, Managing Director of GRIDCO, and Ch R John Zeliang, Executive Director of Corporate Planning at NEEPCO, officially signed the agreement.

As part of this initiative, NEEPCO is currently exploring the feasibility of developing an 800 MW Pumped Storage Project (PSP) at Dandadhar, spanning Dhenkanal and Keonjhar districts of Odisha. The project aims to enhance renewable energy capacity in the state and strengthen grid stability for Odisha’s growing power demand.

This collaboration underscores the commitment of both organizations to accelerate sustainable energy development and promote innovative energy solutions in the region.
