NLCIL, NPTI Collaborate for skill development programme for Project Affected Persons

NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking and the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), a premier national institution for training in the power sector, have joined hands to inaugurate a landmark collaborative skill development course aimed at enhancing the capabilities of India's future workforce. The inaugural function, held at the NPTI (Southern Region) Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, on 05th June, 2025 marks a significant step towards bridging the skill gap and fostering a highly competent talent pool.
The collaborative program, funded under the NLCIL’s Rehabilitation and Resettlement budget with an outlay of Rs.65.17 lakhs, will focus on imparting a job-oriented Post Graduate Diploma Course in “Renewable Energy and Grid Interface Technology”. This course is exclusively designed for 25 Project Affected Persons (PAPs), demonstrating NLCIL's commitment to improving the living standards of communities impacted by its projects and mitigating negative displacement effects.

The course was formally inaugurated by Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI in the presence of Chief Guests Shri Samir Swarup, Director (Human Resources), NLCIL and Shri Venkatachalam M, Director (Power), NLCIL. Dr. S.Selvam, Principal Director, NPTI and Senior Officials from NLCIL & NPTI also participated in this momentous event which will provide the highest quality learning opportunity in renewable energy sector for the candidates selected for the training.
