NTPC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the District Administration of Ri-Bhoi District to establish STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) laboratories in 27 government schools across the district. Formalised on April 30, 2026, the initiative represents a major step toward enhancing educational infrastructure and promoting experiential, hands-on learning among students.
The MoA signing ceremony was attended by Abhilash Baranwal, Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi District, and Amit Kr. Asthana, Head of HR at NTPC Bongaigaon, along with senior officials from both organisations.
With financial support of up to ₹1.48 crore, NTPC will establish fully equipped STEM laboratories featuring robotics kits, renewable energy models, electronics modules, and digital learning aids. The project also includes teacher training and ongoing maintenance support to ensure sustainable and long-term impact.
The District Administration will oversee implementation, while NTPC will monitor progress through periodic reviews and assessments. Through this initiative, NTPC continues to advance education, skill development, and community empowerment by fostering curiosity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students.
