Mumbai, April 20, 2026: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OIL Green Energy Limited (OGEL) to accelerate its transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy sourcing.

OGEL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oil India Limited, and the partnership signals a strategic push by the refinery to integrate renewable energy into its operations.

MoU Signed in Presence of Senior Leadership

The agreement was signed on April 20, 2026 by:

  • Rupam Kumar Sarma, GM (Technical Services), NRL

  • Rajeev Kumar Tamuli, GM, OGEL

The ceremony took place in the presence of senior leadership including the CMD of Oil India & Chairman of NRL, Managing Director of NRL, Directors of Oil India and NRL, the CEO of OGEL and other senior officials.

Focus on Renewable Energy Procurement and Supply

Under the MoU, the two companies will collaborate on:

  • Development of renewable energy projects

  • Procurement of green power solutions

  • Long-term supply of renewable energy for refinery operations

The partnership is expected to enable significant green energy sourcing for NRL in the coming years, reducing carbon intensity and strengthening the refinery’s sustainability roadmap.
