SECI signs MoU with Mumbai Port Authority to provide solar power across all building infrastructure

New Delhi: With an advanced propagation towards clean and green energy transition in the India’s maritime growth sector, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mumbai Port Authority to solarize all port buildings in Mumbai.

The MoU was formally exchanged between Shri Manas Ranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (SECI) and Shri K. Ramesh, Chief Mechanical Engineer (Mumbai Port Authority) in Mumbai.

In order to boost green infrastructure, this partnership signifies to deploy solar power systems across port buildings, while curtailing the use of conventional energy sources and lowering carbon emissions. Further, this initiative aligns with India’s broader renewable energy targets and the government’s push for sustainable infrastructure under the green growth agenda.

By integrating rooftop and other solar solutions, the project is expected to:

Enhance energy efficiency across port facilities

Reduce operational electricity costs

Support India’s commitment to clean and renewable energy

Strengthen sustainable maritime infrastructure

This collaboration marks another milestone in expanding solar adoption across key public sector infrastructure assets.
