New Delhi: Hon’ble Union Minister for Coal & Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, inaugurated the JRDA Administrative Building at Belgaria Township today, marking a significant milestone in the rehabilitation and infrastructure development for families relocated from the Jharia coalfields.

 

During the event, Shri Reddy also:

  • Launched solar street lights to enhance sustainable energy usage.

  • Laid the foundation stones for Phases 6, 7 & 8 of development works in Belgaria Township.

  • Initiated road widening works (Phase II & III) in the R&R colony.

  • Distributed 11 e-rickshaws under BCCL’s CSR initiative to support livelihoods.

  • Inaugurated development works of Phase IV.

Speaking at the event, Shri Reddy highlighted the Government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable rehabilitation, emphasizing that the people of Jharia, who have faced longstanding challenges, will now benefit from improved civic amenities and infrastructure. He also announced the establishment of a Jan Aushadhi Centre in the new shopping complex and a skill development centre for rehabilitated families.

The ceremony was attended by top officials, including Shri B. Sairam, Chairman, Coal India, Shri Manoj Kumar Agarwal, CMD, BCCL, and Shri Aditya Ranjan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Dhanbad & CEO JRDA, along with elected representatives including Hon’ble MP Shri Dullu Mahato, reflecting coordinated efforts towards the development of the Jharia region.

These initiatives aim to enhance quality of life, boost employment opportunities, and improve infrastructure for the rehabilitated population, reinforcing the Government’s focus on sustainable and people-centric development in coalfield-affected areas.
