Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh Appointed Director (BC&T) at Shipping Corporation of India
Mumbai, 31st December 2025 – The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) announced that Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh, currently serving as Director of Liner and Passenger Services (L&PS), will hold additional charge as Director of Bulk, Crude & Tanker (BC&T) segment of the company. The appointment, approved by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is effective from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, or until further orders.
Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh brings over three and a half decades of maritime experience, including distinguished service in the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. During his naval career, he has held prestigious positions including Chief of Staff of the Southern Naval Command, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation), Principal Director at Naval Headquarters New Delhi, and command of destroyers, corvettes, and training establishments.
Since 2023, Admiral Singh has been leading SCI’s Liner and Passenger Services segment and has also successfully managed the Bulk and Tanker segment. He serves on the boards of SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd, a wholly-owned SCI subsidiary, and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd., and is the Vice Chairman of the Narottam Morarje Institute of Shipping, Mumbai.
Admiral Singh holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration and is an alumnus of the Naval Postgraduate School in California, USA, and the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington. His distinguished service has been recognized with the prestigious Nau Sena Medal.
SCI stated that this leadership appointment strengthens its executive team and reinforces the company’s strategic initiatives in India’s shipping and maritime sector.
