Hyderabad: Public sector defence enterprise Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has announced a change in its leadership team. Shri Shailesh Vagerwal has officially taken charge as the company's new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) starting today, July 9, 2026.
The appointment follows an official order from the Ministry of Defence issued on June 18, 2026. BDL shared this update in a formal disclosure to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited, signed by Company Secretary N. Nagaraja. The company confirmed that Vagerwal has no personal or professional relationships with any other directors on the BDL board and is fully cleared under all SEBI regulations to hold office.

Shri Shailesh Vagerwal is a seasoned officer from the Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS). He joins BDL with nearly 30 years of extensive experience in the defence manufacturing sector.
