Vivek Rawat Moves to IRCTC as Group General Manager
New Delhi, June 1: The Ministry of Railways has approved the deputation of Vivek Rawat, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) as Group General Manager (E8) in the North Zone.
According to an order issued by the Railway Board, Rawat, who is currently serving as Chief Commercial Manager (Claims, Catering and Freight Marketing) at the headquarters of North Western Railway (NWR), Jaipur, has been selected for the new assignment on the usual terms of deputation.
The deputation will be for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to the Government's approval regarding exemption from the rule of immediate absorption applicable to IRCTC appointments.
The Railway Board has directed North Western Railway to relieve the officer at the earliest to enable him to assume charge of his new responsibilities at IRCTC's North Zone office in New Delhi. The date of his relief is to be communicated to the Railway Board.
Vivek Rawat belongs to the 2006 batch of the Indian Railway Traffic Service and has extensive experience in commercial and operational functions within Indian Railways.
The appointment follows a proposal submitted by IRCTC seeking a senior executive-level officer to head operations in its North Zone.
