Numaligarh Refinery Limited joins hands with IIT-Guwahati
New Delhi: NRL joins hands with IIT-Guwahati to develop bio-degradable plastics from oil and bio-refinery streams. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NRL and IITG was signed on 13th September 2019 for establishing ‘NRL Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Materials’. Sr. CGM (Corporate Affairs) NRL, Mr. Nikunja Borthakur and Director, IITG Prof. Dr. T. G. Sitharam were the signatories to the 5-year MoU.
An R&D project with a financial involvement of Rs. 4 Crore has been identified as the first project to be taken up at the ‘NRL Centre of Excellence on Sustainable materials’ to be set up in IITG.
This collaboration is expected to boost industry-academia interaction for enhancing engineering and technological competence.
