AAI’s Belagavi airport inaugurated fourth Self-Help Group outlet
New Delhi: In its efforts to assist local artisans and women workers, AAI’s Belagavi airport recently inaugurated the fourth Self-Help Group (SHG) outlet. The AAI-initiated AVSAR scheme is benefiting the artisans and is also promoting the local culture.
The newly inaugurated outlet is equipped with handmade products including handbags, quilts, sarees and many more locally produced items for sale.
Earlier in the line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to encourage the talent of women, artisans and craftsmen and provide them with the right opportunities, Airport Authority of India (AAI) has taken an initiative to allocate space to Self Help Groups (SHGs) at its airports for selling/showcasing the self-made products of their region.
