BEL's Software SBU won Elets Award under Digital Governance category
The portal is an innovative effort to transform the functioning of Cantonment Boards, in line with the vision of ‘New India’.
Mr Kodandarama, AGM, and Ms Shashikala K L, DGM, received the award certificate on behalf of Mrs Durga G K, GM (Software), BEL, on April 19, 2022, at New Delhi.
New Delhi: The Software SBU of Bharat Electronics Limited has won the Elets Award under Digital Governance category for the e-Chhawani project, developed to provide online civic services to over 20 lakh residents of 62 Cantonment Boards across the country.
Mr Kodandarama, AGM, and Ms Shashikala K L, DGM, received the award certificate on behalf of Mrs Durga G K, GM (Software), BEL, on April 19, 2022, at New Delhi.
The e-Chhawani portal has been developed jointly by eGov Foundation, BEL, Directorate General Defence Estates (DGDE) and National Informatics Centre (NIC).
From the portal, the residents of cantonment areas will be able to avail basic services like the renewal of leases, application for birth & death certificates, water & sewerage connections, trade licences, mobile toilet locators and payment of different types of taxes and fees, with just a click of a button.
