CPCL Celebrated 71st Republic Day

New Delhi: Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (CPCL) Manali Refinery Complex this morning (26.01.2020). Mr.S.N.Pandey, Managing Director, CPCL, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at an impressive parade by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) contingent stationed at CPCL.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mr.S.N.Pandey recalled the innumerable sacrifices of our forefathers in the struggle for an Independent India. In his address, he highlighted the present macro economic scenario in oil & gas sector, the challenges posed to oil industry by way of environmental regulations and how CPCL is well prepared to convert challenges into opportunities. CPCL has moved to using clean energy by converting to Gas based firing for its major heater equipments and has already commenced production of BS-VI specification MS and Diesel from December 2019, four months ahead of the deadline.
 
Shri G.Aravindan, Director (Operations), Shri Rajeev Ailawadi, Director (Finance), Shri R.Srikanthan, Director (technical), Senior executives of CPCL, CISF Jawans and a large number of employees along with their family members participated in the celebrations. Suggestion awards for employees were presented on the occasion. Cultural Programmes presented by children of CPCL employees and CISF personnel added color to the function.
