DMRC kickstarts ‘Sashakt Bachpan' Cricket Tournament 2024
Approximately 150 young talents will showcase their cricketing skills over the four-day tournament.
New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation today started a four-day cricket festival to encourage sportsmanship among children titled 'Sashakt Bachpan'. The inaugural event of the tournament, scheduled from 19th March to 22nd March was graced by Dr. Shalini Singh, President of DMRC Ladies Welfare Organisation alongside other senior officials.
The tournament, a first of its kind, kicked off today with a grand inauguration ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries. The ceremony was a spectacle of pomp and show, symbolizing the commitment of empowering the youth through sports.
With children from diverse backgrounds and various NGOs across the National Capital Region (NCR) participating, the tournament promises to be a platform for teamwork and sportsmanship.

Under the aegis of Metro Museum, DMRC tied up with a number of NGOs across the NCR to bring the children together.
DMRC also organized a special exhibition cricket match for its women employees, highlighting the organization's dedication to gender equality and diversity. Dr. Shalini Singh then felicitated the winner of the women's match towards the end of the inauguration ceremony.
The grand finale of the 'Sashakt Bachpan' Cricket Tournament 2024 will take place on 22nd March, promising an energetic conclusion to this landmark event.
DMRC, in collaboration with Delhi Metro Museum, has earlier organised various other events to provide enriching experiences for children, ranging from storytelling programs to informative visits and nukkad nataks. These initiatives provide an enriching experience to the stakeholders promoting inclusivity and social development.
