Inaugurated container train service between India and Bangladesh via Benapole
Majerhat: he much awaited demand of the trade is finally being met after a long pursuit by CONCOR & Ministry of Railways, Government of India, Indian Customs Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Bangladesh Railways, CCBL & other agencies of the two countries.
Container Train service between India and Bangladesh via Benapole has been inaugurated on 24.07.2020 from Container Corporation of India Ltd. terminal at Majerhat The need for container train services between the two countries has been acutely felt by the exporters of our country given ever growing bilateral trade and capacity constraints that the sea & land routes are grappling with.
This will be a permanent service connecting nominated ICDs and Terminals of CONCOR in India to various stations in Bangladesh (Benapole, Jessore, Singia, Noapara, BBW).The trains will run through Petrapole – Benapole border of India and Bangladesh.
