New Delhi: The Government of India has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements with 23 countries to promote cooperation and sharing of India Stack / Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). These agreements focus on replicating and adopting India’s digital governance platforms, covering areas such as digital identity, digital payments, data exchange, and service delivery platforms. This move is part of India’s broader DPI diplomacy under the India Stack framework.

UPI Goes Global

India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is now operational in more than eight countries, including the UAE, Singapore, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, France, Mauritius, and Qatar. The international adoption of UPI is helping boost remittances, promote financial inclusion, and strengthen India’s position in the global fintech ecosystem.

Key MoUs Signed

  • Digilocker: Cuba, Kenya, UAE, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (LPDR)

  • Digital Identity, Payments, and Service Platforms: 23 countries (Annexure-I)

India Stack Global and DPI Repository

To showcase India’s digital governance solutions globally, the government has launched:

  • India Stack Global: Provides access to 18 key digital platforms for adoption by friendly countries.

  • Global DPI Repository: A knowledge platform launched during India’s G20 Presidency (2023), with India contributing the highest number of DPI solutions.

Key Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Platforms

Some of India’s flagship digital platforms include:

  • Aadhaar: Biometric digital identity system for residents.

  • UPI: Real-time digital payments system.

  • CoWIN: Vaccination management platform.

  • DigiLocker: Secure digital document wallet.

  • API Setu: Standardized government data-sharing platform.

  • Aarogya Setu: Digital health advisory and risk assessment app.

  • Government e-Marketplace (GeM): Transparent government procurement portal.

  • UMANG: Unified mobile/web access to government services.

  • DIKSHA: Education and teacher training platform.

  • e-Sanjeevani / e-Hospital / e-Office / eCourts: Digital healthcare and governance platforms.

  • POSHAN Tracker: Nutrition monitoring app.

  • National Non-Communicable Diseases Platform (NCD): NCD screening and management.

  • Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH): Digital platform for skill development and employment.

  • Public Financial Management System (PFMS): Government fund and benefit transfer monitoring.

  • PM GatiShakti: GIS-based infrastructure project planning and execution platform.
