Coal India Limited (CIL) has achieved a historic green energy milestone with the commissioning of its first-ever 5 MW Solar Power Plant at the Balakudra Old OB Dump, Balakudra OCP, Barkasayal Area, CCL. The plant is now supplying clean energy to the grid, marking a significant step toward sustainable energy generation and optimal utilization of mined-out land.

Project Overview

The Bhoomi Pooja for the project was performed in January 2025, and the project was successfully executed by CMPDI, Regional Institute-III, Ranchi, with CMPDI also serving as the Project Management Consultant (PMC). The PMC provided end-to-end services, including planning, design, implementation, and monitoring.
