International Women’s Day, 2023 Celebrated at NTPC Bongaigaon

International Women’s Day, 2023 was celebrated at NTPC Bongaigaon in a befitting manner. Smt. Varnali Deka, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar was invited as Chief Guest  being a positive role model and a sign of women empowerment in the society.

NEW DELHI- International Women’s Day, 2023 was celebrated at NTPC Bongaigaon in a befitting manner. Smt. Varnali Deka, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar was invited as Chief Guest  being a positive role model and a sign of women empowerment in the society.

Smt. Varnali Deka, in her address spoke on the theme of international Women's Day 2023- “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality” and also asked the participants of the program to perform the gesture of International Women's Day 2023’s hashtag “EmbraceEquity”.

Smt. Deka emphasised on how women are capable of achieving success and have the power to  multi-task and manage personal as well as professional lives. Smt. Deka also highlighted the role of women and men in development, upward socio-economic mobility, diversity, inclusion and gender equity.
  
Later, Sh. Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon, Guest of Honour on the occasion spoke on the various roles a woman plays during her lifetime, honouring her contributions to the society. 

Sh. Shashi Shekhar, AGM (HR) earlier delivered the welcome address elaborated on NTPC Bongaigaon’s efforts towards women empowerment.

Smt. Vidya Jha, Vice President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club (BSLC), Smt. Saswati Majumdar, General Secretary, BSLC,office bearers of BSLC, female employees of the station, Smt. Pooja Kandari and  CISF ladies club were felicitated with traditional aronais and planters for their contribution in their respective fields.
