NEW DELHI: Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the IndianOil’s PNG project under Deoghar Geographical Area, & Laid Foundation Stone for HPCL’s Gas Network for PNG & CNG with Godda Parliamentarian & Sh Dr Nishikant Dubey in a major push towards fulfilling energy needs of Godda-Dumka region under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi.
This project covers 3 districts over 6264 Sq KM, reaching out to more than 6 lakh households. With an investment of Rs 303 crore, this initiative is poised to connect 30,000 families by 2027 through the installation of a 350 kms MDPE network. 19 CNG stations are also being set up by IndianOil.
The commencement of the laying of HPCL’s Gas Network in Godda-Dumka spans 6 districts, covers 14507 Sq Km & will potentially impact over 14 lakh households. With an investment of Rs 1750 crore, this project will energise regions such as Godda, Dumka, Poriyahat, Shikaripara, Jarmundi, Mahagama, Pathargama, Jamtara, Mihijam, Pakur, Litipara, & Sahibganj.

Over 33,753 Kms of natural gas trunk pipelines have been authorised in the country out of which around 24,623Kms of pipeline are currently operational. There are 300 GAs authorized in the country, covering 98% of the population & 88% of its area for development of CGD Network. 1.21 Crore domestic PNG connections & 6,258 CNG stations have been established in the country till date.
