NTPC Bongaigaon Signs MoA with Govt. of Manipur to Provide Nutritional Support to 1800 TB Patients
NTPC Limited, as a Nikshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA), today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the State Health Agency, Department of Health, Government of Manipur. The collaboration focuses on providing nutritional support to 1800 tuberculosis (TB) patients and their families in 16 districts of Manipur.

Guwahati, Assam | 22 November 2025 NTPC Limited, as a Nikshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA), today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the State Health Agency, Department of Health, Government of Manipur. The collaboration focuses on providing nutritional support to 1800 tuberculosis (TB) patients and their families in 16 districts of Manipur.
This effort aims to enhance the nutritional status and recovery of TB patients, aligning with the broader goal of eradicating the disease. As a Nikshay Mitra, NTPC is extending this support to strengthen patient care and contribute to the national movement towards a TB-free India.
The project has been conceptualized under NTPC’s CSR mandate aligned with Schedule VII (i) of the Companies Act, 2013, focusing on promoting healthcare and preventive health. These initiatives also align with the Government of India’s vision of equitable healthcare access and NTPC’s ongoing efforts to foster sustainable community welfare in its operational areas. As part of NTPC’s strategic CSR interventions in the North Eastern Region, the initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting regional development priorities and strengthening public health outcomes in states where NTPC operates.

NTPC Bongaigaon will implement the project to ensure efficient monitoring, delivery of nutritional support kits, and sustained engagement with beneficiaries throughout the intervention period.
The MoA signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both organizations. From the Government of Manipur, Smt. Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, CEO, State Health Agency, Manipur, signed the agreement, while Dr. Hemlata Thokchom, State TB Officer, and Shri Siddhanta Salam, State Programme Coordinator, NTEP Manipur, were present as witnesses.
Representing NTPC, Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, Shri V. Jayanarayanan, Chief General Manager (HR,CSR, R&R & LA) , Shri P. K. Sahu, AGM (CSR), and Shri Amit Kumar Asthana, Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon, were present along with officials from the HR Department, NTPC Bongaigaon.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Kengoo Zuringla appreciated NTPC’s proactive contribution towards strengthening community health systems and expressed confidence that the initiative will provide essential support to TB-affected families in Manipur.
Shri V. Jayanarayanan emphasized that NTPC’s CSR interventions are closely aligned with national health missions and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering meaningful welfare programmes that support the most vulnerable sections of society.
Shri Arnab Maitra highlighted NTPC Bongaigaon’s guiding philosophy of “People Before Profit” and noted that the collaboration marks a significant step in contributing to India’s goal of a TB-free nation by providing timely and impactful community support.
